Outpatient department

Our patients have the opportunity here to obtain detailed information about our therapy programmes. For specific problems, there is also the option of outpatient follow-up treatment after the inpatient stay, which is usually for a limited period.

Depression and Burnout

We offer support to women who have experienced a crisis of meaning and orientation or a state of illness as a result of critical life events, difficult life transitions or multiple stresses. In the treatment of affective disorders and stress-related illnesses, we take a relationship-focused approach to establish a connection with our patients on various levels. Our aim is to promote mindfulness and self-care, restore health and foster an outlook oriented towards the search for meaning. We work in an integrative and holistic manner and take psychotherapeutic elements, such as Cognitive Behavioural Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) into account, combining this with interventions based on mindfulness.

Somatic stress and eating disorders

Our experienced specialist department for somatic stress disorders offers our patients the opportunity to develop an understanding of the interaction of psychological and physical reactions in a safe environment specifically designed for women, in addition to the immediate improvement of symptoms.

The existing range of services has been supplemented by specific treatments for the three main forms of eating disorders, i.e. anorexia, bulimia and uncontrolled binge eating, as well as other eating disorders. As part of tailored psychotherapy, we work with our patients in three phases on various psychological and physical issues, accompanied by cautious medicinal treatment and dietary advice. We teach strategies that promote and sustainably support the recovery process.

Own resources and competences are strengthened so that new steps towards healing change are possible. This also includes planning the time after the hospitalisation.

Our main aim is to improve emotional regulation and help patients develop coping strategies for stress based on a multi-professional treatment strategy. We work with patients to develop an understanding of their individual issues, encourage them to connect with their own feelings and support them in dealing with them in a functional way.

Klinik Meissenberg: past and present

The history of Klinik Meissenberg began in 1926 under the leadership of the Sisters of Menzing as a private sanatorium for women in a prime location overlooking Lake Zug. In its early years, Klinik Meissenberg was already known as the psychiatric clinic for women in Switzerland. The focus of treatment today is still on psychotherapy.
In 1999, the Menzing Sisters sold Klinik Meissenberg to Bad Schinznach AG. Today, Klinik Meissenberg AG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bad Schinznach AG.

Beatrice Bill-Wyss, Delegate of the Board of Directors/CEO, and Rolf Tanner, CFO, manage Klinik Meissenberg AG together with Dr. med. Kamila Dudová-Nakazi as Medical Director/Chief Physician.
