Rights & obligations

Feel at ease from the very first moment and concentrate on the therapy.

There are legal rights in the patient-healthcare relationship, which we summarise for you here:

Effective treatment requires the active participation of the patient. We ask you to inform the treatment team as precisely as possible about your illness and previous treatments and to follow the therapy to which you have consented.

You have the right to receive clear and appropriate information about your state of health, the planned examinations and treatments, their possible consequences/risks, the prognosis and the financial aspects of the treatment.

Treatment requires your free and informed consent. Patients with the capacity to make decisions may refuse or interrupt medical or care treatment, or leave the clinic, provided there are no reasons for them to be detained.

patient decree is available to you to express your wishes regarding treatment and procedures in the event that you become incapable of making decisions for yourself. You can appoint a person of trust to determine the type of treatment on your behalf if you are no longer able to do so yourself.

Restrictive measures may be taken against the patient under defined conditions (e.g. danger to self or others). The measure must be proportionate, reviewed regularly and revoked as soon as possible. You, your trusted person and/or your legal representative can contact the competent cantonal bodies to request a review of the measure.

If a person is placed in care, they have the right to be accompanied by a representative of their choice and/or to lodge an appeal against the decision.

We will treat your state of health confidentially. Apart from exceptions provided for by law, we only pass on information with your consent.

If you wish, you can inspect your patient documentation and have it explained to you. You can also take a copy of the documents with you at the end of your treatment and give them to a healthcare professional of your choice.

You can protect yourself against unwanted visits or telephone calls. Please report these concerns to reception and your treatment team.
